Abstract

Seo, Soyoung. (2016). Studies on the inversion of the Definite Object. The Linguistic Association of Korea Journal, 24(3), 189-206. In Spanish, the object pronouns replace objects previously mentioned to avoid unnecessarily repeating them. This object pronouns is placed in front of the verb, replacing any article used with the object previously. However in Spanish the object complements can appear in front of the verb like the subject. In this case, we examine the use of a redundant object pronoun. In concrete, when a noun object, direct or indirect precedes the verb, the corresponding redundant object pronouns is always used. In this paper, we have argued that the object pronouns can be defined as a functional head D(eterminant). And we have proposed that this D is attached to the functional head Topic in order to check the feature Topic.
